My goal is to train smarter than I have in the past, with more stretching, strength-training, and strategic recovery. Hoping it makes the positive difference to help me finally finish a marathon in under 5 hours!

It’s been 11 years since my last marathon and I’m finally ready for another: The Steamtown Marathon in PA! Sticking to a training schedule while also including activities I love like stand-up paddle boarding and mountain biking will be my biggest challenge. Oh, and the 20 milers.

This summer, I want to create a diverse exercise regimen. Whether it’s yoga once a week, running or core workouts, I want to be more active than I am. Right now, I’m able to run 1.5 miles comfortably. I’d like my comfortable running goal to reach 2 miles each run.

Consistency! I’m training for the Monumental Marathon (Nov. 6) in Indianapolis, so I need to be disciplined about getting my runs in–especially the long ones! (and doing them outside as I tend to be a treadmill junkie :))

Work up to a 70 minute run. Mostly because it’s a really cool number. And also because it’s one that when fall comes around, I can feel really good about! Nike has those custom times you can get printed on your shoes – I’m tempted to get :70!
